Walking Through Your Plan Together

A financial plan only has value if you understand it, believe in it, and feel confident acting on it. Step 5 is a dedicated meeting where we walk through your written plan in detail, explain every recommendation, answer your questions, and ensure you leave with complete clarity about your financial path forward.

This is not a one-way presentation. It is a collaborative conversation where we explain the "why" behind each recommendation, discuss alternatives where they exist, and make adjustments based on your feedback. The goal is a plan you fully understand and are ready to act on.

A Collaborative Discussion

We encourage questions, pushback, and discussion during the presentation. If a recommendation does not feel right, we want to know — and we can model alternatives on the spot. The best plan is one that you are confident in and committed to following.

For One-Time Engagements

For one-time/first-time client engagements, Steps 1-5 represent the complete deliverable. Steps 6 (Implementation) and 7 (Ongoing Monitoring) are left for you to execute, though we are available for ongoing flat-fee reviews as frequently as you wish.

Understanding Drives Action

Research consistently shows that clients who thoroughly understand their financial plan are far more likely to follow through on recommendations. That is why we invest significant time in Step 5 — because a plan that sits in a drawer helps no one.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Step 5 of our planning process.

Can my spouse attend the presentation?
We strongly encourage it. Financial planning decisions affect both partners, and having both present ensures alignment and shared understanding.
What if I do not understand something?
Please ask. There are no bad questions. We will explain any concept in plain language as many times as needed. If you leave confused, we have not done our job.
Can I implement the plan on my own?
Yes. One-time engagements include Steps 1-5. You receive the complete plan with all recommendations and can implement them independently. Many clients do.
What if I want ongoing help with implementation?
We offer ongoing flat-fee advisory relationships (Steps 6-7) for clients who want professional support with implementation and monitoring. We can discuss this during the presentation.
